I am excited to say
that the site is growing every day. A few
changes have been made to help to accommodate
the growth and to make the search for local
family based businesses easier.
-
We have added a
Health & Wellness
drop down at the the top of the home screen.
This allows for ease when searching for
local health providers.
-
A
field trip
page has also been added to the day care
education pages so that parents and
providers can know about the local places
their kids can visit during school hours.
-
We have also
added the following categories:
Kid's Cell Phones,
Home Services
(House Cleaning) and
Counseling Services.

What a great time we had
at the Princess Pirate Day at
Danik Gymnastics
with
Fun 'n Fit Inflatables.
Cinderella, Princess Jasmine, and a
Pirate-all from
2BAKid Party
Characters- got into the Jumpies
(and all the other gym equipment with the
kids) and everyone had a blast! The
characters did tattoos for the kids, and
Idaho Parents Directory had an arts and
crafts table where we decorated masks,
flowers and bookmarks. Thank you to all that
came and participated! It's wonderful seeing
all the parents kick off their shoes and
have a silly fun time with the kids..

Today I revisited
the Meridian Library's preschool storytime
with my 3 year old and his 2 year
old friend. We had attempted to go before,
but I always seemed to do more chasing of
him around the room than listening of any
story and soon grew weary and downtrodden
about going. Today, after the preschool
storytime, I introduced myself to the
children's librarian, Barbara is her name,
and just told her how much I appreciated how
full of energy she had been and interactive
with the kids. They were mesmerized by her
stories and her ever so cheerful demeanor.
She talked with the kids, really talked with
them, and was genuinely interested in every
single one of them. I found myself smiling
the entire 30 minutes, partly from her fun &
playful attitude and partly from how happy
she seemed to be making my son. I am pleased
to say that the only time he did get up from
the floor was to come over and give me a
kiss and then promptly return to his spot on
the floor and continue with the singing and
dancing activity she had for them. On a
separate occasion, my older children (10 &
8) recently had started the Tales to Tails
program at the library and I was pleased to
recognize another librarian that we had
met from our weekly jaunts to the bookmobile
near our home. Dominique, has always been
very friendly and always goes out of her way
to greet the children and help them in any
way she can. So thank you Barbara &
Dominique for making our library outings so
fun! PS... You should grab a
flyer or check online to see where the
bookmobile will be in your neighborhood.
They have an amazing selection of DVD movies
and the kids just love getting on the bus!

I like to take
the kids out weekly to a new and fun place
in the Treasure Valley. There are so many
wonderfully affordable things to do in this
area, but I think we may have found a new
one to put in our top 10!
Fun 'n Fit Inflatables
in Eagle at the Danik
Gymnastics facility
on Iron Eagle Road was a pleasantly
surprising find for only $5/kid. We arrived
right at 10am with my 3 year old and his 2
year old friend. They had a bounce house
(with a slide and basketball hoop), an
obstacle course inflatable so they could
race, 2 trampolines, 2 foam pits-one with a
tunnel and all kind of beams to walk on for
the kids to practice their balancing. They
absolutely loved it. It was a great morning!
I met some really nice moms (it's always
nice talking to other adults!), the kids got
a ton of exercise and I even decided to take
my chance in the foam pit for a little fun
(not easy to get back out of by the way, but
my kids were tickled pink to see me try!) I
will be attending their Saturday, January
23rd event from 1pm-4pm that will have a
Princess and Pirate theme! The cost will be
$7.50/kid- bring your camera! It's going to
be fun....Arts & Crafts, tattoos, a princess
and a pirate from
2BAKid Party
Characters and lots of jumping!!!
